Through its Donation Program, the MTA Foundation supports projects that pioneer a more robust and connected community throughout the Mat-Su Valley and Eagle River/Chugiak areas, to Anderson and Glacier View. Because connectivity is not the only element of a vibrant and prosperous community, the MTA Foundation also makes donations for general community support.
Scholarships Awarded
The MTA Foundation empowers local students by awarding numerous scholarships each year. Whether they’re first-time college students or returning to continue their education path, these students will acquire the skills to benefit their local communities. Each of these career paths plays an essential role in Alaska’s future.
Donations Given
We strive to enhance the local communities where we work and live by supporting fundamental causes such as health and wellness, education, ports, seniors, environments, and so much more. These causes are under $5,000.

HOW IS THE MTA FOUNDATION FUNDED?
MTA Gaming’s Annual Tournament:
MTA Gaming’s annual tournament is not only Alaska’s largest esports event, it is also one of the largest sources of funding for the MTA Foundation. 100% of the event’s sponsorship donations go towards the MTA Foundation. Over the last two years alone, this event has raised nearly $60,000 towards helping us fulfill our mission. Interested in becoming a sponsor? Click here to learn more.
MTA Employee Donations, Member Capital Credit Donations and General Donations:
If you would like to make a general donation, you can make one-time or recurring contributions online here.

Escheated and Unlocatable Capital Credits:
When MTA is unable to locate a former member to distribute capital credits, the State of Alaska allows those funds to go towards the MTA Foundation where they are invested into our communities through our annual scholarship program, donations, and grants.
